Key Similarities Between the Vitera & Evora CPAP Masks

Both the Vitera and the Evora employ VentiCool Headgear technology. It utilizes breathable fabric that allows 24 times more airflow and 35% more moisture transfer than previous Fisher & Paykel masks.

Five-point headgear adjustment enables a better fit by allowing for more tweaking at different locations of the frame.

Quick Release clips on headgear prevent you from having to readjust the mask fit every time you take it off and put it back on. You can even wash your headgear without having to readjust it.

Both mask frames fit cushions of each of the three sizes that are available for each mask. So, there’s no need to buy a whole new mask if you just need to change the size.

Each mask features a swivel elbow that attaches to your hose and moves around easily, allowing you to sleep in any position.

Key Differences Between the Vitera & Evora CPAP Masks

The stability bar on the Vitera allows you to easily adjust the cushion. Conversely, the absence of the stability bar on the Evora allows for an open design which is great for beginners and those who feel claustrophobic in a CPAP mask.

The design of the cushion on the Evora is such that the “Floating” Seal is supported by Stability Wings. These technologies work together to allow for freedom of movement while keeping the mask comfortably in place. The stability wings provide structural support, enabling the floating seal to be more flexible and comfortable.

The effect is similar to that enabled by Vitera’s RollFit XT seal which keeps the seal in place while reducing pressure on the bridge of the nose.

The exhalation port on the Vitera frame has been placed to blow upwards, unlike the port on the Evora which blows downwards. Upward air movement can be an advantage because the warm air exits without blowing on you or your partner, in most sleeping positions.

The Vitera is a great mask for those who have facial hair because it rests low on the nose and chin and provides higher stability than the Evora.

The Evora allows you to wear your eyeglasses while taking your CPAP therapy. The vertical stabilizer bar on the Vitera prevents the comfortable use of eyeglasses.

How to Use the Vitera

  • Remove all packaging before using your mask.
  • Refer to the fitting images on the inside front cover of this mask sizing guide.
  • Hold the front of the mask with one hand and the Headgear with the other.
  • Ensure that one headgear clip is unhooked from the frame.
  • Place the seal onto your face and guide the headgear over your head.
  • Hook the unattached headgear clip onto the frame.
  • Gently tighten the headgear straps of the headgear starting with the bottom straps, and then loosely fit the blue forehead straps.

How to Maintain the Vitera

Wash your mask (excluding the headgear) after each use:

  • Hand-wash your mask in soap dissolved in lukewarm water. Do not soak for more than 10 minutes.
  • Rinse thoroughly in fresh water, ensuring that all soap residue has been removed.
  • Inspect all parts to ensure they are visually clean. If necessary, repeat the cleaning steps until all parts are visibly clean.
  • Leave all parts to dry out of direct sunlight before reassembling.

Wash your headgear after 7 days of use:

  • Hand-wash your headgear in lukewarm water with soap dissolved in it. Do not soak for more than 10 minutes.
  • Rinse thoroughly in fresh water, ensuring that all soap residue has been removed.
  • Inspect all parts to ensure they are visually clean. If necessary, repeat the cleaning steps until all parts are visibly clean.

How to Use the Evora

  • Ensure that both headgear clips are unhooked from the frame.
  • Place the seal onto your face and guide the headgear over your head.
  • Hook both headgear clips onto the frame.
  • Gently tighten the headgear straps, starting with the blue upper straps, followed by loosely fitting the lower straps.
  • Connect the tube with the swivel to the PAP tube. Turn on the CPAP device.
  • Repeat step 4 until the mask seals feel comfortable on your face.
  • If you experience mask leaks, you may need to lift the seal off your face and reposition it. If the headgear touches the ear, adjust the straps on the top of your head.

How to Maintain the Evora

After each use:

  • Wash the seal.
  • Wash the frame with the tube connected.

After 7 days of use:

  • Rinse thoroughly in fresh water. Ensure that all soap residue has been removed.

  • Leave all parts to dry out of direct sunlight before reassembling.
