The ResMed AirFit P30i Nasal Pillow CPAP mask is minimal contact and gently conforms to the face. The DreamWear Pillow mask has a smooth frame with an easy turning swivel. Which one stacks better against the other?…
ResMed P30i vs Philips DreamWear Gel Nasal Pillow – Subtle Differences
ResMed has just come out with a new line of masks which are very exciting. The newest mask in this line? The ResMed P30i! Having the tube at the top of the head is just one of their latest features in design and comfort.
With the P30i design, CPAP users can easily turn around in bed without having the tube running along their necks or around their arms. Philips Respironics has a similar design which has been around for a while but is also a great choice. While these products are similar, there are some subtle differences that we will go over.
The ResMed P30i has a similar frame to the Philips DreamWear Gel Pillow mask with a few differences. The frame has a spring fit, an accordion frame at the top which allows for a personalized fit yet provides nice stability while The DreamWear Pillow mask has a smooth frame. The swivel at the top of the DreamWear easily turns while the P30i swivel is a bit firmer but still works nicely.
The DreamWear Gel Pillow is light and able to accommodate reading in bed or watching TV.
Headgear and Mask Wraps
The headgear on the P30i seems a bit stiffer on the ResMed Pillows mask than on the DreamWear but also does a great job of holding the mask in place. Both masks provide mask wraps for the frame to reduce marks on your face and provide a bit of comfort.
Philips DreamWear wraps are removable for easy cleaning while ResMed has the wraps permanently attached to the frame and can’t be removed.
Mask Cushion
The DreamWear cushion is made from gel, providing an effective and comfortable seal with minimal contact to prevent red marks while the ResMed P30i is made of soft silicone and easily fits in the nostrils.
The removable cushions on both masks are easily replaced, and both have a venting area on the cushion and at the swivel. The ResMed P30i has an added feature on the cushion with a built-in diffuser, allowing a quieter sleep for you and your partner.
We think both of the masks are real winners due to the top-of-the-head hose connection and similar pricing. At the end of the day, we believe our customers will be pleased with either mask. For any questions, you may have be sure to email us at [email protected]
