Originally released in 2014, the ResMed AirSense 10 Auto CPAP remains immensely popular in the CPAP community for its small bedside footprint, whisper-quiet airflow, and intelligent “Climate Control” humidification system.
The AirSense 10 by ResMed is a classic and reliable machine trusted by many CPAP users and providers alike.
ResMed recently released a modified version of this well-known machine – the AirSense 10 Autoset Card to Cloud – in an effort to meet the continued high demand for CPAP machines during a time of semiconductor shortage.
This version delivers all of the familiar features of the Airsense 10; the only limit is that it cannot upload data to the myAir app or transmit data remotely to your physician.
Data download is, of course, still possible via the included SD card and with free CPAP compliance software (OSCAR). You can read all about it in this article.
So, if remote monitoring is not a priority, the AirSense 10 is a tried and true machine that is user-friendly and doesn’t break the bank.
Comfortable, personalized therapy
The ResMed Airsense 10 features many customizable comfort settings that help users take control of their therapy.
For new CPAP users, SmartStart is a convenient feature that turns the machine on automatically when it detects your breathing so you can focus on fitting your mask and getting comfortable.
EPR (expiratory pressure relief) drops the pressure when you breathe out, making exhalation more comfortable, especially in higher-pressure settings.
AutoRamp makes falling asleep easier by keeping the start pressure low and only increasing pressure to the set prescribed pressure after you’ve fallen asleep.
Smart humidification technology
The AirSense 10 offers 8 levels of humidity when using the non-heated slimline tubing. For maximum comfort, we recommend investing in the ClimateLineAir heated tubing which enables the Climate Control Auto feature.
When Climate Control Auto is enabled, the ResMed Airsense 10 automatically adjusts the humidifier to maintain 85% relative humidity and prevents rain-out in the tube.
If you feel the air is too hot or too cold, you can adjust the tube temperature within the range of 60 to 86 degrees F. Climate Control Auto reduces nasal congestion and dry mouth so you can focus on your therapy and sleep.
If you like to have more control over your humidifier settings, simply turn Climate Control from Auto to Manual, and you can now set both your humidity level and tube temperature independently.
Aesthetics
With dimensions of 10 x 4.6 x 5.91 inches and a weight of 2.75 lbs, the AirSense 10 is a compact machine that doesn’t take up much of your bedside real estate.
Its sleek design resembles a bedside radio, and the auto-dimming color LCD screen minimizes disruptions to you and your bed partner. It is also whisper quiet at 26.6 decibels, which is quieter than the background humming of your fridge.
If you do not use a humidifier, you can remove the water chamber and replace it with the AirSense 10 side cover. This drops the weight down to 2.45 lbs and removes a few inches off the length.
You can always just leave the water chamber in and turn your humidity off if the sound of air moving through the empty water chamber doesn’t bother you.
